Move comes after the airline’s launch of several new routes
Thursday 11 August 2022
Kuwaiti budget carrier Jazeera Airways has inaugurated a sales office in Dubai to handle operations. The new office is in Business Bay, a thriving business district that lies on the Dubai Canal waterway.
Jazeera Airways launched several new routes in the first half of 2022, serving Prague in the Czech Republic; Chittagong in Bangladesh; Salalah in Oman, and Vienna in Austria. It also commenced flights to Bhairahawa, Nepal's second international airport.
In the same period, it carried more than 1.5 million passengers and recorded a net profit of KWD 7.76 million (nearly USD 25.3 million), up 166.3% over the first half of 2021.
Established in April 2004, Jazeera Airways now serves nearly 50 destinations with a fleet of 17 Airbus A320 and A320neo aircraft. The airline is a publicly traded company listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange and is a member of IATA.
Jazeera Airways was the first airline in the Middle East to add A320neo to its fleet in 2018, which is the world’s most fuel-efficient, single-aisle aircraft family, producing 5,000 tons less CO2 emissions per year per aircraft.
