Boston Scientific expands to Dubai

Boston Scientific, a global medical technology developer, has inaugurated a new office at the Dubai Science Park. The US-headquartered company operates in the development, manufacture, and marketing of medical devices that are used in interventional medical specialties. It specializes in developing minimally invasive devices for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions.

Founded in 1979, Boston Scientific has invested more than USD 1 billion in research and development to date and generated net sales of USD 11.8 billion in 2021, growing 19.9%.

Boston Scientific’s Dubai office aims to address the significant increase in demand for medical devices in the region, which is expected to reach USD 21.8 million by 2027, according to Business Market Insights. The office will serve as the company’s headquarters for growth emerging markets and will facilitate its collaboration with channel partners and healthcare professionals.

The Dubai office is Boston Scientific’s third in the Middle East and an addition to its seven offices spread across Eurasia, Southeast Europe, and Africa, covering 115 countries with more than 41,000 employees.

Dubai Science Park is the region's first science-focused business community, created to foster growth and development in pharma, health, and wellness. Established in 2005 and located in Al Barsha South in Dubai, the free zone facilitates interaction between government institutions, investors, and experts and is home to more than 400 companies employing more than 4,000 people.
