Costa Coffee, one of the largest coffeehouse chains in the world and the largest in the UK, has opened a new store on the ground floor of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, located in the historical district of Deira.

The new branch has been fitted with furniture that is equipped with wireless chargers and USB fast-charging spots, enabling customers to charge their devices while they visit the coffee shop.

Costa Coffee’s UAE franchise business has steadily gained momentum since 1999, when it opened its first outlet in Dubai. The chain, operated by Emirates Leisure Retail group in the UAE, continues to grow with more than 150 outlets throughout Dubai and home delivery services across the city.

Costa Coffee was founded in London in 1971 as a wholesale operation supplying roasted coffee to caterers and specialist Italian coffee shops. In 2018, Coca-Cola bought the coffeehouse chain from owner Whitbread in a deal worth GBP 3.9 billion.
