Starbucks opens outlet at Terminal 3

Expects tourists to return to Dubai following confidence in COVID safety

Coffee chain Starbucks, operated by the Al Shaya Group, has opened a new outlet in the arrivals lounge of Dubai Airport's Terminal 3.

Coordination and collaboration within the Dubai ecosystem have ensured that tourism does returns to Dubai. International visitors have said they are impressed with the precautionary measures across Dubai during recent exhibitions.

As many as 92% of visitors have said Dubai is the safest place in the world to do business meetings. Around 99% said they felt safe or very safe. Over 95% felt safe at every touchpoint - from airport to airline to hotel and their destination.

Although the city was one of the first to shut down, it also became one of the first to reopen. Domestic tourism returned in May 2020 and international visitors were welcomed back in July the same year.

Around the same time, Dubai hosted the first large-scale event since lockdown, the AI Everything event held at Dubai World Trade Center. More events have followed, most notably Gitex in December and Gulfood in February 2021, which welcomed visitors from over 150 countries with strict safety protocols in place.
