American Hospital Dubai has partnered with healthcare technology firm Cerner to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) research center.
Part of the Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, American Hospital Dubai is a 252-bed acute care, general medical/surgical private hospital.
The new facility will combine its clinical AI and advanced data analytics tools with Cerner’s electronic health records (EHR) data to deploy centers of excellence across oncology, infectious diseases, and bariatric medicine areas.
The AI research center will leverage big data analytics and machine learning for data-based clinical research and operational improvement projects. The primary projects are delivering home health experiences and improving care management associated with COVID-19.
An AI-based data-driven approach is expected to enable progress in virtual medicine, population health management, data analytics and visualization, and clinical decision support.
With home health experiences, the virtual medicine concept is intended to offer improved services to patients, including telemedicine, video and phone visits. This experience will be supported by remote monitoring.
