New school opens in Dubai during lockdown

Pearl Wisdom School opens with virtual learning

Bhavans Middle East, an education venture associated with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, India, has opened the Pearl Wisdom School at Hor Al Anz, Dubai, during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Open to students from kindergarten to Grade 5 in its first year of operation, the Indian-curriculum school welcomed its first students via distance learning in April 2020.

Teachers continue to provide lessons through the school's distance learning platform.

Creating 2,400 additional school seats in Dubai, the school's annual fees range from AED 14,500 to AED 16,500.

The school has hosted virtual parent-teacher orientation sessions, student council activities, virtual assemblies and online lessons for its founding batch of students.

Dubai has added 30 new schools over the last three years, creating over 24,000 additional seats. Enrollment in Dubai private schools has seen an increase of 2.1 percent in 2019.
