Global biopharmaceutical giant Sanofi has opened a new distribution center in Dubai Logistics District to facilitate the delivery of more than 22 million packs of medicines every year for patients in six countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Iraq.
At 2,740 square meters, the facility is one of largest of its kind in the Middle East pharmaceutical industry. The move complements Dubai’s medical supply chain. The distribution center comes equipped with the latest warehousing and cold chain technologies.
Sanofi began operations in the Gulf in the 1970s and established its first affiliate in 1987 in the UAE. Employing over 500 people, the company offers health and well-being solutions with a focus on diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, oncology, immunology, multiple sclerosis, rare diseases, and vaccines. The new facility increases the company’s storage capacity by 68 percent.
