Dubai among top 10 digital economies of the future for FDI attraction

fDi magazine report takes a five-year view based on jobs, projects, capital investment, and FDI inflows and outflows


Dubai has been ranked among the top 10 digital economies of the future in terms of FDI attraction, in the Digital Economies of the Future 2018/19 report published by Financial Times’ fDI magazine.

The report collated data for 117 locations under five categories: Economic Potential, FDI Attraction, Digital Infrastructure and Environment, Cost Effectiveness, and Business Friendliness. London, Dublin and Singapore emerged as the overall top three. Dubai is ranked No. 10 in terms of FDI Attraction.

The criteria for judging FDI attraction include a five-year view evaluating digital sectors for attracting investments, FDI jobs per 100,000 people for the sector, capital investment per 100,000 people, co-location or expansion projects, inward and outward FDI and their proportions for the period between 2013-2017.
