Dubai FDI inflows up 7.1% to USD 7.5bn in 2017

City attracts 367 FDI projects in 2017, 50% more than 2016


Dubai attracted AED 27.3 billion (USD 7.5 billion) in Foreign Direct Investment in 2017, an increase of 7.1 percent over the previous year, according to data collated by Dubai FDI, a division of the Department of Economic Development (Dubai Economy).

The numbers reported by FDI Monitor, a quarterly publication of Dubai FDI that is in the process of being transformed into a live interactive platform, also show that Dubai attracted 367 FDI projects in 2017, an average of just about one for every day of the year.

The number of FDI projects has increased by 50 percent over the previous year, the FDI Monitor data show.
