The Dubai Health Forum 2018 organized by the Dubai Health Authority discussed, among other topics, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to assist in physical disabilities, a deeper study of genetics and genomics to cater to precision medicine for heart disease and cancer, and the use of robotic technology for surgery.
Held on January 15 and 16 in Dubai, the DHF featured more than 33 international speakers from 22 countries. More than a thousand delegates showcased smart technology and innovation in health care.
Also in focus was lifestyle medicine, including ways to tackle non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, cancer, and even mental health in a holistic way.
The forum discussed taking 3D printing technology to its next level, focus on the use of robotics in heart, eye, and other organ surgeries, the implementation of blockchain in health care delivery, the expansion of telemedicine, and the use of smart technology and sensors in geriatric care.
