US-based multinational computer technology corporation Oracle has opened an innovation hub in Dubai to help drive the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) among the UAE's businesses and public sector and academia. Powered by 400 cloud sales professionals, the facility, called the Zayed Innovation Hub, was inaugurated by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
Strategic government initiatives such as Smart Dubai and Expo 2020 are founded on emerging digital technologies such as AI driving the creation of an automated infrastructure. Forrester predicts that businesses that use AI, Big Data, and the Internet of Things to uncover new business insights will gain USD 1.2 trillion per annum by 2020.
The company says that one of the challenges is to make AI easier to adopt, which will be made possible by engaging with key UAE audiences by raising their awareness levels, helping drive an innovative approach, and also supporting skill development of the next generation.
